“We will be late again” was the only thing I’ve heard in the past 5 minutes. The coffee cup was half full and I still hadn’t finished my breakfast. The excitement of spending another day in Lozenets was noticeable in Mery’s eyes as she was crossing the room impatiently. Not that I wasn’t excited, but I did not want to start out our journey on an empty stomach!
But what makes this place so special? If you still have not heard about Lozenets, now is the time to learn more about this unique place, located on the southern coast of Bulgaria in the foot of Strandzha mountain. If it doesn’t ring a bell, fasten your seatbelts as we are taking the experience to you!

Not as trendy as Sunny Beach or Nessebar, Lozenets is a hidden gem that is yet to be discovered by foreign visitors. With its magnificent beaches filled with crystal clear water, amazing beach bars and wonderful nature sights, this unique place is an escape from the overcrowded popular tourist resorts and if you are looking for an authentic travel experience … then this is the right place for you to be! And here are the places where we spent our time, enjoying the sunlight and flipping bottles and glasses of cocktails and all sorts of exotic beverages. Hell Yes!

Hacienda Beach
Day or night, Hacienda Beach has the door wide open for visitors. We took the stairway that got us directly to the beach and as soon as we’ve stepped on the warm sand, I felt that my feet were melting! It was 37 degrees Celsius and I felt dehydrated already. We ordered some refreshments from the bar – a Corona for me and a cocktail at the bartender’s discretion since we could not choose from the huge variety of beverages (we wanted to feel the luck of the draw!). And we headed straight to the blue waters.
P.S. Mery decided to go for a swim with her wristwatch that I gave her as a birthday present. It was definitely not the best idea, since it does not work anymore.

We got a nice spot with an umbrella and a few bean bags to sit on. The good thing is that all the pieces of equipment are free to use whereas on most beaches you have to pay for them.

Also the prices for the drinks were average in comparison to other beach bars in the area, so if you are on a budget it will be a solid choice given that you get free access to the beach and all accessories.

During our stay, we had the pleasure to meet one of the managers of Hacienda, who also appeared to be an artist and performer during the night events hosted in the venue. As we’ve mentioned earlier, the place is open during the night as well, turning from a beach bar to a night club with a lot of special guests and parties regularly, keeping people entertained. If you happen to be around at some point, make sure you check the schedule to see if there is any event going on.
As the day was coming to an end, we collected our stuff and blasted off from Hacienda Beach. We wanted to go and watch the sunset and the best place to do that was “Barcheto”. Obviously, it comes from the word ‘bar’ but with translated meaning it would be something as ‘the little bar’. It represents the place quite well, since it is small but at the same time cozy and romantic – It is uphill, on the right side of Hacienda. The view was incredible. We watched the sunset and its reflection on the sea waves, crashing at the rock formations around the gulf of Hacienda Beach. To be honest, let the picture speak for itself.

In the meantime, I could also answer some emails regarding the 360 photo editing. Luckily, the internet was fast enough to get the job done and I could also get myself updated with some news regarding virtual reality tours and future content creation for you guys!

As we saw the last sunlight of the day behind the beautiful landscape view, we packed our stuff and departed on the way back. I would spare the words ‘back home’. Lozenets is one of those places that makes you feel like home. No matter who you are or where you are coming from, it will always give you shelter. And here is a picture after the last tick of Mery’s wristwatch. As sad as it is, in the end we realized that it gave us a lesson – that we cannot measure our happiness in minutes or hours on the clock, but in moment we spend doing the things we love.
