La Cubanita Beach Bar

July 22, 2017

La Cubanita is one of those places which atmosphere takes you away to a distant culture, somewhere far away in the regions of South America aside of the ordinary and casual lifestyle of the surrounding area of Sunny Beach.

Often referred as the ‘little Cuba’ of the Black Sea Coast, the place is far different from the mainstream bars and clubs, localized in the main street of the resort. At first it gave us the impression of entering another overrated beach club, but we were wrong the moment we stepped on the red carpet of the venue. We were greeted by some charming hostesses which gave us a tour of the place. No doubt we were impressed by the taste of the designers. The interior was really interesting with posters of retro cars and colorful patterns of the city streets in Cuba.

We ordered smoothies from the bar while shooting our 360 tour and took a table in the outdoor area since there was a dance performance going on at that time. The menu was versatile with a variety of alcoholic and soft drinks and the prices were ok given the Sunny Beach standards as a low cost destination and also the quality of the place can compare to high-class venues.

What impressed us the most was the clean beach strip with its golden sands, crystal clear water and the constant maintenance of the area. There were bean bags all over the place where people were lying and sunbathing, drinking cocktails and listening to the music that was coming out of club. There was also a good view of the coastline of the ancient Nessebar, part of UNESCO’s world heritage sites which is a must-visit place if you are here.

And as the place is open day and night, the pleasant relaxing bar becomes a fancy night club with a lot of events, theme shows and dance performances. We returned late in the evening after the manager invited us to attend one of the hosting parties. Even that it was not in particular in a South American style, the dancers and bikini models made a good show. Keep in mind that you can constantly check for upcoming events on their Facebook page to see if there is anything interesting going on during the week and make sure to check if there is entrance fee before going.

Overall, we were happy to spend our day at La Cubanita. It felt different than the casual bars and clubs in the area and the beach was clean of rubbish unlike the main one of Sunny Beach. If you are looking to have a night out with a more authentic parties and theme shows, it is worth checking what the place has to offer if the prices are affordable for your budget. And last but not least, the smoothies were amazing!
